22/09/2021 Design principles (colour) LO: Explore and evaluate the use of colour in graphic design
What is graphic design? Graphic design is a craft where people create visual content to communicate messages by applying visual hierarchy and page layout techniques designers use typography and pictures to meet user's specific needs and focus on the logic of displaying elements in interactive designs to optimize the users experience.
How can colors be cauterized? There are three different types of colours: primary, secondary, and tertiary colors. ... The secondary colors are green, orange, and purple. And the tertiary colours are yellow-orange, red-orange, red-purple, blue-purple, blue-green, and yellow-green.
What are hues and tints? In colour theory, a tint is a mixture of a color with white, which increases lightness, while a shade is a mixture with black, which increases darkness. Both processes affect the resulting color mixture's relative saturation. A tone is produced either by mixing a color with gray, or by both tinting and shading.
What is a secondary color? A secondary color is a color made by mixing of two primary colors in a given color space.
What is a mono color? A monochromatic image is composed of one color. The term monochrome comes from the Ancient Greek: μονόχρωμος, romanized: monochromos, lit. 'having one color'. A monochromatic object or image reflects colors in shades of limited colors or hues. Images using only shades of grey are called grayscale or black-and-white.
What is triad? In music, a triad is a set of three notes that can be stacked vertically in thirds. The term "harmonic triad" was coined by Johannes Lippius in his Synopsis musicae novae. When stacked in thirds, notes produce triads.
What is Analogic? An analog signal is any continuous signal for which the time-varying feature of the signal is a representation of some other time-varying quantity, i.e., analogous to another time-varying signal.
What is accented analogic? Various shades within an accented analogous color scheme, and their mutual contrast. This color scheme is similar to the complementary color scheme, the complement works as the accent the same way, while the adjacent colors give more freedom to balance the basic design
